Chinese New Year

On Wednesday 7th February, we had a day to celebrate Chinese New Year, linked to our history topic of the Shang Dynasty. The Chinese New Year has been celebrated in China for thousands of years, and is centred around removing the bad and the old, and welcoming the new and the good. As part of our class celebrations, we created handprint chinese dragons, tried chinese food (some of us even used chopsticks!) and learnt all about the Chinese zodiac, identifying the year of which animal we were born in - we even managed to work out the year Mrs Burnham and Mrs Tipper were born from their animals!! It was a really great day!
