Thank-you Year 1!
What a lovely way to spend our last day together! We enjoyed a fun-filled summer and ice cream-themed day, and the children threw themselves into every activity with enthusiasm.
We started by reading When Ice Cream Had a Meltdown, followed by a fun draw-along session where everyone created their own delicious ice cream pictures. The children then coloured, cut out and assembled their creations to make a fantastic collection of Year 1 ice creams.
Throughout the day, the children also enjoyed exploring the summer-themed playdough, taking part in the ice cream parlour role play and designing their own mouth-watering ice cream sundaes.
It will come as no surprise that the highlight of the day was our mini disco and ice cream station! The children had a wonderful time dancing, celebrating and enjoying their treats. Thank you to everyone who kindly donated items to help make this so special.
Finally, I would like to say a huge thank you for the incredibly thoughtful surprise gift. Your kindness and generosity mean so much to me, and I am truly grateful. It has been a privilege to teach such a wonderful group of children this year. I wish you all a fantastic summer and the very best as you move on to Year 2!
