Year 3 Ancient Greek Day
Year 3 had a fantastic time stepping back in time for Ancient Greek Day! The children looked amazing in their costumes and loved having their photos taken in front of our green screen to capture the fun.
We started the day by learning about the very first Olympic Games, exploring the opening ceremony and the different events that took place. The children then created their own Olympic torches before taking part in our very own opening ceremony and mini Olympics! Everyone showed great sportsmanship and we finished by awarding medals to our brilliant athletes.
In the afternoon, we tasted a range of traditional Greek foods and recorded our opinions-some big thumbs up and a few brave taste-testers too! We also explored Ancient Greek pottery, looking closely at the designs and what they tell us about life in Ancient Greece. The children then designed and created their own pots, inspired by the patterns and stories seen in real artefacts.
A brilliant day full of learning, creativity and fun- well done Year 3!
