Puppy Visit
Today in Year 5, we were excited to welcome a dog into school for a short visit.
This experience was designed to support immersive teaching, helping to stimulate the children’s ideas for writing. Meeting a dog in real life gave pupils a rich, first-hand experience that they can now draw upon when describing characters, settings and feelings in their English work. It was a memorable opportunity for the children to develop their vocabulary through observation and discussion.
The children had a wonderful time getting to pet Lola and seeing the tricks she could do!
Thank you, Lola and Mrs Burnham – I think year 5 would now like a class pet!
