Year 5 News
At Downsway it is ‘Science Week’. We started the week with an exciting workshop and made slime and sherbet! We then made different types of flying machines and looked at aerodynamics.
This morning Year 5 went to Denefield and had an amazing science lesson! We used bunsen burners to see which foods have the most energy and we also looked at the journey of what happens to food when we eat it. When we got back, we made ‘instant ice-cream’ using the magic of salt to change the freezing point of ice. We were able to make enough to put in cones! Then we joined in with the ‘Egg Drop Challenge’ and designed and made protection for the eggs to survive the landing. There are more fun activities to come later in the week. See the new albums to see some of the photographs!
