Year 5 had to design and make a carrier for an emergency zip wire that delivers food supplies down a mountain.  Sadly, the bridge had broken, and the base camp were short of emergency supplies. Once they had made strong carrier that could safely transport food packages, the children then investigated factors that influenced friction.
